Broadcast Editor
An exciting opportunity for a Broadcast Editor to join Televideo, one of the UK’s leading independent OB & production companies. 

The role of Broadcast Editor is open to applicants with a background in Premiere Pro editing, After Effects & Photoshop. 
About the Role
Applicants should have experience in editing content of various styles, specifically editing to music, VT content (ie. Talking heads, interviews, behind the scenes lifestyle stories) and editing using graphics overlays from various software packages. The majority of our editing is programme editing, and creating VT packages to use in these programmes, such as opening titles, closing sequences, and VT packages.
 
The Broadcast Editor will form part of the existing production and outside broadcast team, working as the lead editor alongside fellow graphics designers, junior-level editors and producers. 

Based at Televideo’s busy Sheffield office, the candidate will be required to work in the production department day-to-day in their design capacity, with work on outside broadcast locations as required to deliver onsite edits on TV productions. The candidate will be responsible for executing creative projects from brief through to completion. 

Examples of our recent productions include Ultimate Boxxer for BT Sport, Elite Ice Hockey for Freesports, BBL basketball for the BBC, the World Taekwondo Championships (BBC, BT Sport and World Feed), as well as ad hoc production work including rugby, football, netball, bowls, cricket and swimming to name but a few.
 
The working week will be mainly based at our Sheffield offices, with some OB work from time to time across the UK and Europe. The Broadcast Editor will play an active role as a member of the production department, and will be encouraged to learn skills in the graphics department too, with operation of VizRT broadcast graphics systems desired as a secondary skill. The candidate will be required to fulfil a wide range of edit and production tasks, ensuring the highest levels of client satisfaction. 
 
Primary work activities:
  • To edit top-quality programming for the leading broadcasters - using Premiere Pro, as well as being proficient in the use of After Effects, Photoshop and illustrator for graphics design work for some edits.
  • Maintenance and development of edit software and hardware, servers, HD storage, including logistical and operational planning of company edit systems and hiring / purchasing of new equipment
  • To comply with all health and safety legislation as documented in the employee handbook.                    
 
Secondary work activities:
  • Working alongside clients and colleagues in a professional and efficient manner
  • High level of IT knowledge to work with and understand production and broadcast systems and protocols
  • To operate graphics systems as a secondary operator (mainly VizRT) on outside broadcast productions as required (taught in-house).

About You
Beneficial skills, knowledge & experience:
  • Experience in Premiere Pro editing, After Effects & Photoshop.
  • Experience in VizRT is desirable.
  • A clean, tidy and professional personal appearance is essential.                   
  • Versatility to undertake a range of activities as required by the business is essential. 
  • Must be able to adapt working hours to suit the needs of the business.
  • Excellent team working skills are paramount.
  • A clean driving licence is beneficial.
  • 5 x GCSEs (A-C) including English and Mathematics mandatory, and education to A-level or equivalent standard is preferable.
Details:
Salary will be dependant on experience and hours will be Monday - Sunday in accordance with the needs of the business.
