Post Production Support Technician

We are seeking a Post Production Support Technician to provide general front line support, and specialist Avid support and other technical support within our growing post production facility.

Creativity Media is an end to end post production facility whose aim is to deliver creative and technical excellence. Over the past 9 years, we’ve completed post production on over 100 feature films and television series, including 47 Meters Down, Under the Shadow and McQueen.


About the Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide front line technical and engineering support for internal Staff and Clients on a variety of software and hardware platforms including;
    • Particularly Avid but including Adobe CC, DaVinci Resolve, ProTools and Baselight
    • Mac, PC and Linux operating systems within an EVO & EditShare, IP and Fibre storage environment
  • Liaising with 3rd party support providers as part of operational support efforts
  • Maintaining and ensuring daily setup of post production suites including their machines and supporting hardware along with display and speaker line-up
  • Managing and maintaining software, their accounts and portals, driver and plugin licensing and updating including vendor account management
  • Provide general back office and IT technology support including email and phone service maintenance and front line support
  • Manage incident reporting and support ticketing throughout the facility along with issue resolution planning and escalation within the team as required
  • Monitoring security procedures, processes and hardware across facility infrastructure including password management and cycling
  • Monitor and implement backup and archive processes as defined by the technology team
  • Assist in I/O of data and assets at the facility.


About You

The Candidate:

You'll have cultivated a broad understanding of post production technology and workflow across Theatrical, Broadcast and Online platforms across a range of industry standard softwares.

You will have excellent skills in using and supporting Avid, including a deep understanding of Avid technical operations, especially when relating to shared storage systems such as EVO and EditShare. Ideally you will have an Avid technical certification, or proof of equivalent experience.

You will have a hunger to learn and develop your skills in a rapidly changing industry, whilst engaged at a busy post facility.  You will also be keen to help drive working practice and help support the facilities related systems and your co-workers as a team.

Lastly, you will be flexible and adaptable, able to enjoy the variability of projects and types of work that we will be engaging in from providing operation input on projects through to supporting the technology making it happen.


Skills Outline:

  • Proven track record for front line support with suitable organisational and personal communication skills for working directly with staff and clients
  • 2 years' experience minimum; supporting in a media environment with Avid, DaVinci, CC and shared storage systems
  • Experience using and or working with Avid, DaVinci Resolve, ProTools and Adobe CC applications. Experience in Baselight would be beneficial
  • Good understanding of OSX, Windows and Linux, specifically for machine management, building, support and trouble shooting
  • Good practical engineering skills including data and AV cable creation and management as well as picture and audio suite maintenance
  • A good knowledge of practical computer engineering and maintenance is required for workstation upgrades and troubleshooting
  • An understanding of IP and Fibre Channel networking
  • Experience with SNS EVO and EditShare storage systems is of benefit
  • Experience in AWS and GCS is of benefit
  • An Avid engineering or support certification is of great benefit
  • Able to demonstrate a passion and flair for technology and IT.
