Rights Analyst

We are seeking a Rights Analyst.


You will be responsible for researching and analysing rights information for programmes distributed by Endemol Shine International, as well as programmes owned by Endemol Shine Group.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Job Purpose:
This full-time role sits within our Rights Management department and is responsible for researching and analysing rights information regarding programmes distributed by Endemol Shine International, as well as programmes owned by Endemol Shine Group.

Key responsibilities 
  • Investigate, research and collate information from various sources regarding programming produced within the Endemol Shine Group 
  • Interpret legal contracts including production, format, commissioning, distribution, acquisition and sales agreements 
  • Based on contract paperwork, identify rights exploitation opportunities and flag any clearance issues or other contractual obligations
  • Generate complex availability and sales reports from our rights management database (Jaguar/FilmTrack) 
  • Analyse the report data and summarise key findings to management and external departments
  • Assist with ad hoc data checking projects to ensure the rights management database reflects complete and accurate information
  • Data entry (basic to complex) into our rights management database, including updating programme asset information, entering acquisition contract and sales history information 
  • Liaise with third parties and internal departments
  • Electronic filing of contracts
  • Provide additional assistance to the rights management team as needed in regard to all duties such as assisting with Collection Society registrations, Content ID checks, or catalogue handbacks
  • Develop a solid understanding of media rights and how this affects ESI as well as the wider business needs of Endemol Shine Group.

ABOUT YOU
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Analytical and a problem solver
  • Proactive and can self-manage continuous, large projects
  • Proven ability to interpret complex legal documents
  • Experience in Rights Management or Business Affairs environment (or similar)
  • Knowledge of Jaguar, FilmTrack or EasyTrack would be an advantage
  • Understanding of Content ID, collection societies, residuals & clearances and/or experience in broadcast media would be an advantage
  • Very strong computer literacy particularly excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Can work well within team and independently
  • Positive, curious and tenacious.
