Facilitating the evolution from tape based servicing to digital distribution, Room 1 Media offers a total video servicing package, encompassing ageing formats and archive libraries through to current HD and 4K standards. Room 1 Media has the ability to deliver to any digital asset management service platform and works with Distributors, Content Owners, Studios and Production Companies in the UK and overseas.

 

Room 1 Media can archive from any film, tape or print format to any digital deliverable, no matter how big an archive library is. The aim is to restore & preserve content, allowing content owners to monetise their libraries & utilise their legacy content effectively.


As the business continues to grow with more original content investment and a growing number of streaming services, Room 1 Media has successfully delivered on projects for some major media blue-chip clients. Following recent significant investment, the business is now poised for growth.

The Role

The role is to essentially focus on new business and build our profile. We are looking for someone who can come in and shake things up. We are looking for someone who can implement processes that can help win more pitches, a rain-maker, and a profile builder. This role will sit within the management team and have a strong sales focus.


Reporting to the partners, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire business development operation. This will involve liaising closely with internal and external stakeholders, as well as developing strategies to refine operations and deliver incremental business growth. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring successful delivery of projects on schedule and on budget, to the highest standards.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Identify strategic business needs.
  • Proactively monitor investments and revenue with existing and potential clients.
  • Interact closely with clients to ensure expectations are captured and operations deliver on commitments.
  • Present Room 1 Media as the partner of choice and ensure projects are delivered to client expectations.
  • Support management in critical, operational decision-making processes by drawing on technical expertise and data analysis.
  • Inform revenue growth plans by effective budgeting and project portfolio forecasting.
  • Ensure projects are aligned with business objectives.
  • Analyse, interpret, and implement delivery methods, production methods and technical specifications for projects.
  • Design resource plans for all projects to ensure seamless transition of activity and timely execution.
  • Develop and implement metrics and identify areas for improvement in processes, monitoring and technical skills.
  • Establish processes to set the scope and formally plan for new project orders and establish a framework to kick-off and execute these initiatives.
  • Oversee full project portfolio, budgets, costs and delivery timeframes.
  • Collaborate with the senior management team on joint strategic deliverables.
  • Report effectively and accurately on project portfolio and deliverables to senior management.
  • Establish capacity tracking methods and manage the volume of projects.
  • Maintain communication and strong relationships with clients.

 

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of sales, operational, technical and commercial skills.  You will be a technical expert with strong leadership qualities and a vast network of clients including, but not limited to, distributors, content owners, studios and production companies. 


You are a new business specialist who will:

The successful candidate must have:

  • Significant senior level experience in localisation, media industry, and post-production workflows.
  • Prior experience in managing revenues is essential.
  • Extensive experience in content services on a global level.
  • Strong leadership capability and ability to engage teams to reach full performance potential.
  • Ability to manage a high workload of concurrent tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage.
  • Excellent organisation, time management and planning skills.
  • Detail oriented, hard-working and can-do attitude.
