On-Air Planning Manager

Our Planning department is now looking for an On-Air Planning Manager to be responsible for commissioning and planning the key on-air promotions on all Viasat World channels. 


The position will be based at our office in Chiswick and is a full-time, fixed term position on a 12-month contract.

Committed to digital excellence, our aim is to secure SVOD rights for almost all our content. The TV1000 Russian Kino direct-to-consumer service is the latest addition to our digital portfolio, providing subscribers outside of Russia with access to a vast collection of the latest and greatest Russian films and TV series.


Roles & Responsibilities

The On-Air Planning Manager will be responsible for commissioning and planning on-air promotions across all Viasat World channels. They will work in close collaboration with the Head of Planning and Head of Creative to create, brief and manage on-air promotion campaigns that optimise resources and deliver effective results. 

The role requires someone with:

  • Experience of writing creative briefs that can be translated into impactful promo campaigns
  • A robust understanding of media planning to help us optimise our air-time excellent communication skills to ensure plans are shared with stakeholders
  • Drive and diligence to ensure campaigns are delivered on time
  • Excellent strategic planning and analytical skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work with limited supervision.

Main duties:

  • Write creative briefs for all promotions and on-air materials
  • Develop & manage a rolling 12-month promotional strategy across Viasat World’s portfolio of channels
  • Create media plans for on-air promos that optimise air-time and creative resources and deliver effective results
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that key promotables are aligned across the business and meet strategic needs
  • Act as main point of contact for all on-air enquiries, ensuring campaigns are communicated effectively and delivered in a timely manner to a high standard
  • Review campaigns with key stakeholders to analyse effectiveness against performance metrics
  • Manage creation of on-air navigation and branding elements across all Viasat World channels
  • Attend monthly management meetings and be the advocate for on-air needs for all channels
  • Understand technical requirements and parameters of all channels and the differing delivery methods for each element
  • Research trends, conduct competitor analysis and institute changes to ensure channels remains effective in the market place
  • Monitor promotional resources across the portfolio and continuously assess the requirements of each channel brand
  • Complete monthly make-lists across all channel brands and feeds
  • Work with London staff and external teams to optimise promotional breaks and advertising sales time management
  • Brief scheduling teams on media planning best practice and promo usage
  • Manage On-air Coordinator (tbc).


About You

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record and demonstrable experience in a relevant industry, come from a marketing or creative background and have a real passion for television.
