Technical Support Engineer
Molinare TV & Film Ltd have an exciting vacancy for a Technical Support Engineer based in Soho, London. 

The successful candidate will be part of the Technology team providing technical support to the company’s sound and picture post production suites, operations and infrastructure.

Molinare TV & Film Ltd is the UK's leading post production facility for broadcast episodic drama, feature film and factual productions in HD, 4K, UHD & HDR.  The company offers innovative workflows for its wide ranging clients and provides a competitive, agile and flexible technical response to meet their developing needs.

 

The Technical Support team is vital in this role.  As well as having responsibility for technical maintenance and installation, they provide support and development of the infrastructure and workflow, tailored to meet the ever-changing technical challenges that face the company.

 

The Role Overview

 

The Technical Support team work alongside the IT team and together they support all the company’s technical infrastructure from business and security systems to creative post production finishing suites. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support for the company’s grading, sound and editing facilities, and the associated post production infrastructure across our sites in London.

 

Key responsibilities include:


  • Provide frontline maintenance and troubleshoot technical and operational issues 
  • Work with operational staff to identify system performance issues, devise improvements and implement solutions
  • Collaboration in project design and installation  
  • Sound suite, projection and picture monitor calibration
  • Maintenance of technical documentation and records of hardware and software systems
  • Technical liaison with external support teams, suppliers, clients and facilities.

 

Desirable knowledge, experience & skills:


  • Prior experience of technical support in a post production environment
  • In depth knowledge of AVID Media Composer and Pro Tools
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Flame and Filmllight Baselight systems
  • Sound understanding of the principles of TV and film post production technology
  • Excellent IT and computing experience, with an understanding of computer network technology
  • Wide knowledge of modern post production workflows, equipment and infrastructure
  • Ability to identify changing technical requirements and to research, recommend and develop solutions
  • To be a great team player and able to work independently too
  • Ability to work to demanding deadlines
  • A positive and flexible approach
  • Keen interest in new and developing post production technologies.

 

Details:

  • Salary commensurate with experience.  
  • This position will involve working on a shift pattern that includes late hours and weekends.
