SO WHAT’S YOUR NEW ROLE ABOUT?

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Media Manager. In this post you will play a key role within the Content Operations Team. 

You will be working as part of a dynamic team supporting and maintaining post production workflows.  


The Senior Media Manager will be chiefly responsible for the management of media assets in a fast paced 24/7 broadcast environment, that delivers a variety of video on demand and promotional sports packages. 


Working closely with operational and production teams, you will be responsible for the ingest management of media files, MAM administration, online and nearline storagemetadata checking and the archive cataloguing of digital files.  


You will work in conjunction with a team of experienced, post production engineers and workflow specialists.

 

The successful candidate should be passionate about MAM and file based workflows.

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR NEW ROLE?

  • Plan and manage media workflows and transfers between Live MAM and Archive systems 20%
  • Implementing metadata conventions 5%
  • Loading and archiving files from portable media 5% 
  • Manage Avid and Adobe projects and the consolidation of media for use in Online and Pro-tools environments 5%
  • Creating and managing directory structures in Dalet MAM database 10%
  • Efficient monitoring and management of production storage 15%
  • Working with broadcast scheduling software 10%
  • Assist with the delivery of file based media to required standards 5%
  • Provide media management training to operational and production teams 5%
  • Manage and delegate tasks to Post Production Technical Assistants 2.5%
  • Recommend and implement improvements to file based workflows and deletion policies 5%
  • Manage the delivery of exported and transcoded media assets to distribution protocols 2.5%
  • People management and recruitment responsibilities 10%.


DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW?

Skill Level (out of 4)

  • Must have experience of and be confident with MAM systems 4
  • Experience of dealing with clients in a post production environment and being able to communicate technical and non-technical information well 4
  • Knowledge of managing editing projects between offline and online environments 3
  • Good understanding of asset management and databases 4
  • Working knowledge of storage technologies and their management 3
  • Confident using a range of PC and Mac software 4
  • Experienced with broadcast scheduling software ScheduALL and Xytech 2
  • Willingness to travel and work within our other locations as needed 4.


DO YOU HAVE THESE DESIRABLES?

  • Understanding of managing media assets in Pro-tools
  • Knowledge of File based delivery technologies such as Aspera or Signiant.
  • Experience using Avid editing software is advantageous
  • Experience using Avid Interplay
  • Experience of multi-site post production workflows an advantage
  • Experience working with a post bookings team to help inform staff and plan future work.
